2025 year
The first Georgian channel launched a public project, the megashow “People’s”, in which the New Bana team successfully participated. Hundreds of musical groups, family ensembles and individual performers took part in the qualifying competition, from which 40 best participants were selected, 12 for television broadcasts. The 20 best participants advanced to the semi-finals, and in the finals, the 10 best performers fought for the championship. The New Bana team successfully competed until the final of the project and deservedly took a place among the finalists of the first season of the public project.

On May 27, 2025, in the Small Hall of the Tbilisi State Conservatory, as part of the Republican Scientific Conference of Young Ethnomusicologists, an evening of traditional music was held, where the New Bana Choir participated, performing songs and church hymns from different parts of Georgia.

On April 29, 2025, in order to popularize Georgian polyphony, the New Bana Choir held a concert for representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia!
February 23, 2025
On February 23, 2025, in the Small Hall of the Conservatory, the New Bana Choir held its first graduation concert and presentation of an audio album, which was recorded with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Georgia. At the graduation concert, folklore samples from different parts of Georgia, as well as urban folklore, urban music and compositions were performed. The director of the choir, Lasha Gelashvili, who hosted the evening, introduced the audience to the goals of the ensemble, spoke about the choir’s past short creative life and future plans, and thanked the guests for their presence and support. At the end of the event, the choir members and guests were blessed by Bishop Simeon of Surami and Khashuri, the All-Vladimir Priest. The Bishop noted that the New Bana Choir is one of the first and most important projects of the Bana Cultural and Monastic Educational Center, one of the cultural directions, which was created in the chant direction precisely for the New Bana Cathedral. The event was attended by: theater and film actors, journalists, famous singers and epochal performers of folk songs, including Mr. Ramin Mikaberidze, who congratulated the choir on its successful performance and wished it a successful future creative path.

On September 9, 2024, organized by the Telavi Municipality, the “Akhali Bana” choir and the Levana Deda Folklore Ensemble “Shilda” held a joint concert in Nadikvari Park in Telavi.

On September 6, 2024, organized by the Borjomi Municipality, the New Bana Choir performed a solo concert at the Borjomi Culture and Arts Center.
August 15, 2024
On August 15, 2024, the New Bana Choir performed at a gala evening dedicated to India’s Independence Day. The event was attended by employees of the Indian Embassy, students, representatives of Indian culture and various social circles. Several joint musical numbers were also performed.
July, 2025
Representatives of the South Korean National Television will visit Georgia in July 2024. The film crew traveled to several regions of our country and collected important material about Georgia, Georgian culture and landmarks. On July 30, they visited the New Bana Choir at a rehearsal. The reporters listened to and recorded several samples of Georgian songs, polyphony and had an interesting conversation about its meaning with the famous folklorist, head of the ensemble “Shavnabada” Davit Tsintsadze, and the leaders of the Bana Choir. At the end of the filming, the journalists sang in Georgian with the members of the choir.
July 23, 2024
On July 23, 2024, the New Bana Choir left for the Czech Republic. The New Bana Choir held a concert in the Czech Republic on the final day of the Karlovy Vary International Festival. At the concert, both folklore and several compositional pieces were performed, including “The Lake Sleeps” by the brilliant Czech composer Josef Ratil, who works in Georgia. The concert, which was attended by representatives of many countries, was sold out and received great acclaim from the audience.

On May 26, 2024, an event dedicated to Georgia’s Independence Day was held in the city of Khashuri, where, at the invitation of the municipality, the New Bana Choir performed songs from various regions.

On May 12, 2024, at the invitation of the Rustavi Municipality City Hall, the New Bana troupe opened the “Georgian” festival in Rustavi Park, which brought together dozens of Georgian choreographic groups.
September 6, 2024
On April 26, 2024, in the village of Kvishkheti, Khashuri Municipality, a public holiday dedicated to the epochal Georgian saint, Saint Dimitri Kipiani – “Kipianoba” was held. In this regard, Bishop Simeon of Surami and Khashuri celebrated a prayer service in the saint’s house-museum, after which he addressed the gathered parish with a sermon and congratulated the holiday, spoke about the great merits and life of the saint, which is a role model and exemplary for all of us. After the service, a festive concert was held, in which the “Akhali Bana Choir” participated.
January 25, 2024
On January 25, 2024, the New Bana group visited India as part of the Georgian-Indian Culture Festival, where it performed with dignity in front of the local government, non-governmental, diplomatic corps, academic circles, students, journalists and hundreds of other citizens at several events and introduced Georgian polyphony to a wide audience. As part of the festival, a meeting was held with representatives of the International University of India, where a concert was also held. The festival was attended by His Holiness Bishop Simeon of Surami and Khashuri as a special guest, who spoke extensively to the festival participants about the historical ties between India and Georgia. The festival was attended by the President of the India Foundation, the famous intellectual Ram Madhav, the former Indian ambassadors to Georgia Kishan Dhan Dewal and Suresh Babu, the Deputy Director of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Anju Ranjan, the host of the delegation in India – the President of the Best Innovative University Bharat Lal Meena and Chancellor Rupa Mahadevan, as well as representatives of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and Education, the media and the press. The ensemble presented samples of Georgian folklore to the foreign audience, which aroused great appreciation and admiration. The Georgian Mkhidan festival was attended by actor and art critic Nikoloz Tsulukidze, Georgian professors and teachers, journalists and other representatives of the public. The festival lasted until January 29, which closed with the third solo concert of the New Bana Choir in India.
November 11, 2023
On November 11, 2023, the New Bana Choir held a solo concert on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Surami and Khashuri Diocese. The concert was held in the assembly hall of the vocational training center located in the vicinity of New Bana, within the framework of the same concept. The concert was attended by the members of the Holy Synod, the archpastors, representatives of local authorities, residents of the eparchy, and invited guests.

With the blessing of His Holiness, Bishop Simeon of Surami and Khashuri, and with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia and the Khashuri Municipality City Hall, on July 9, 2023, the Abkhazian State Song Ensemble “Shavnabada” held a solo concert in the vicinity of “Akhali Bana” in the city of Khashuri. The youth choir of “Akhali Bana” participated in the concert, where both individual and joint singing samples were performed. The event was dedicated to the anniversaries of the 45th anniversary of the enthronement and 90th anniversary of the birth of His Holiness and Beatitude Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II.

On June 19, 2023, the “Akhali Bana” boys’ youth choir, at the invitation of the TSU administration, performed various song samples at the presentation of the student educational magazine – “Message from Kharagauli”. The event was attended by the Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia, representatives of the Kharagauli Municipality, magazine respondents from Kharagauli, professors, students and invited guests.

On May 2, 2023, the New Bana Choir performed before the audience at the Grand Concert Hall of the Tbilisi State Conservatory as part of the 13th Tbilisi International Festival of Choral Music, where they performed both compositional and folklore pieces.

On November 20, 2022, the first joint concert of the Akhali Bana Boys’ Youth Choir and the Tbilisi Girls’ Youth Ensemble was held at the Tbilisi City Theater.

On November 10, 2022, the New Bana Choir held a concert in the concert hall of the Khashuri Music School in honor of the 9th anniversary of the establishment of the Diocese of Surami and Khashuri.

On October 17, 2022, on Veterans Day, the New Bana Choir joined the event taking place at the Imedi Cultural Center, where several folklore songs were performed.
October 15, 2022
On October 15, 2022, the Akhali Bana Boys’ Youth Choir participated in events dedicated to the Khashuri City Day. It is noteworthy that this was the ensemble’s first performance in Khashuri, which aroused great interest.
August 22, 2022
On August 22, 2022, the Mtatsminda Park New Bana Choir hosted the Buckswood School. The event included multicultural elements, where representatives from different countries presented singing and choreographic numbers from their own countries. The choir welcomed the guests with folk songs.
June 9, 2022
On June 9, 2022, the New Bana Choir, at the invitation of the Sagarejo Municipality Cultural Service, participated in the celebration of the secular and church public holiday – “Garejo”. The concert was held in the vicinity of the David Gareji Lavra. It is noteworthy that the Gareji Public Holiday has been held near the large David Gareji monastery complex since the 1970s.
